Free Video Wall Generators

Create video walls in FCP X with free templates.

Inspired by an article on LarryJordan.com, we created these free Video Wall generator templates for Final Cut Pro X, allowing the (relatively) easy setup of multiple videos in a grid arrangement. Included are 17 generators for various size video walls—from 4 to 40 videos! Good luck getting your computer to play back 40 videos in real time, but it’s there if you need it! As a bonus, they automatically conform to both widescreen (16x9) and square projects. If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s nothing stopping you from opening up in Motion and customizing them further to suit your needs.

Also included is a Grid Overlay generator, to create a variable grid that can be put on top of the video wall, if you’d like visible lines.

Download here. Please read the included manual. There are some tricky nuances to getting drop zones to behave predictably in Final Cut Pro X. In short, we recommend creating compound clips to fill the drop zones.
